Our Stance on Copyright

At MoviesFun, we have a profound respect for the creative process and the intellectual property rights of filmmakers, producers, distributors, and artists. We understand the immense financial and creative investments required to produce cinematic content. It is our strict policy to comply fully with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) and other applicable international copyright laws.

Before proceeding further, it is crucial to understand the fundamental nature of our website: MoviesFun is a discovery and curation platform, not a hosting provider. We do not host, store, stream, or upload any video, audio, or media files on our own servers. Our platform functions solely as a directory, aggregating and organizing links to content that has already been uploaded by third parties to external, publicly accessible video sharing websites, primarily YouTube.

Because we do not control the servers where the actual video files reside, we cannot directly delete the source file from the internet. If you find your copyrighted material linked on our site, it means the file exists on a platform like YouTube. While we will happily remove the link from our directory, we strongly advise you to also contact the actual hosting platform (e.g., YouTube) to have the source video permanently taken down.

How to File a DMCA Takedown Notice

If you are a copyright owner, or are legally authorized to act on behalf of one, and you believe that any content linked on MoviesFun infringes upon your copyrights, we are ready to assist you. To request the removal of a link from our website, you must submit a formal DMCA takedown notice.

To ensure we can process your request as quickly and accurately as possible, your takedown notice must be in writing (email is perfectly acceptable and preferred) and must include all of the following essential elements:

  • Physical or Electronic Signature: Provide a physical or electronic signature of a person authorized to act on behalf of the owner of an exclusive right that is allegedly infringed. A typed name at the bottom of an email is sufficient.
  • Identification of the Copyrighted Work: Clearly identify the copyrighted work that you claim has been infringed. If multiple copyrighted works are covered by a single notification, provide a representative list of such works. (e.g., "The movie title: [Insert Title], Release Year: [Insert Year]").
  • Identification of the Infringing Material: Clearly identify the material that you claim is infringing or to be the subject of infringing activity, which you are requesting us to remove or disable access to. Crucially, you must provide the exact URL(s) on MoviesFun where the link appears. Sending a general statement like "Remove all links to my movie" is insufficient, as we need specific URLs to take action.
  • Contact Information: Provide information reasonably sufficient to permit us to contact you, such as your full name, an address, telephone number, and, if available, an electronic mail address at which you may be contacted.
  • Good Faith Belief Statement: Include a statement that you have a good faith belief that use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
  • Statement of Accuracy: Include a statement that the information in the notification is accurate, and under penalty of perjury, that you are authorized to act on behalf of the owner of an exclusive right that is allegedly infringed.

Submitting Your Notice

Please compile all the required information listed above and send your complete DMCA takedown notice to our designated Copyright Agent. We prefer to receive these notices via email to ensure the fastest possible response time.

Send your DMCA notices to:

dmca@moviesfun.example

Please allow us up to 24-48 hours during standard business days to review and process your request. We take these matters seriously and assure you that valid requests will result in the immediate removal of the infringing links from our website.

Important Considerations

Before you send a takedown notice, please be aware of a few important considerations:

Firstly, under Section 512(f) of the DMCA, any person who knowingly materially misrepresents that material or activity is infringing may be subject to liability for damages. If you are unsure whether the material you are reporting is actually infringing (for example, if the use might be considered "fair use" under US law), we suggest you consult an attorney before sending a notice.

Secondly, please remember that removing a link from MoviesFun does not remove the video from the internet. The video will still remain active on the third-party server (like YouTube) until you contact them directly. We highly recommend filing a copyright strike directly with the hosting provider simultaneously to ensure the unauthorized content is completely eradicated from the web.

We appreciate your cooperation and your dedication to protecting creative works.
